We need a crocheter to write the patterns
Our pattern builder shapes a garment and writes the pattern for the size you pick. Someone has to write those patterns first, and work out the counts for every size. That is the job.
The role
- The patterns
- Base patterns for jumpers, cardigans and tops. Written so they still work once the builder resizes them.
- Every size
- The stitch and row counts for each size. The builder needs those numbers from you. It cannot work them out on its own.
- Testing
- Crochet them up and tell us what came out wrong. Nobody here can do that part.
- Content, optional
- A couple of videos or photos of a finished piece for Instagram. Another 5%, and only if you fancy it.
What we do
We write the software, run the site and pay for the advertising. The chart maker, the symbol editor and the row counter are free. The pattern builder is the one people pay for, and it is already live, so you can go and use it before you decide whether to reply to this.
What we cannot do is design a jumper that works.
Worth knowing
It is a revenue share, not a salary. If nothing sells, 25% of nothing is nothing. We think it will sell and we are paying for it out of our own pockets, but you should know that going in.
Each design is written to one gauge, not to the crocheter’s own. Some of what you write will hit the edges of what the builder can do. Tell us when it does.
